Description
This is another gargoyle decorating the gothic cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague. It isn't a realistic photo, but a collage. In fact the gargoyle is much higher, situated on the same level as the two drake gargoyles you can also see. But I wanted to capture the impact it made on my imagination, so that this image tries to seize the emotion of the discovery, when I saw the archer with the dead boar at his feet, an image of by-gone days, when people had still to hunt their meal. And I also wanted to convey the sheer verticality of the building, which blends smoothly the religious impetus with the more prosaic needs and the carnality of the populace.

when I was small I did not understand gargoyles and was apprehensive of them.this one scares me now!! now I know they are politicians and alive and cheating the public!!
