Description

A pair of Swans have nested by the bridge close to where I work. They used to nest on the other side of the river by the weir but were driven out of that area by some Black Swans. Their old nest site has, for the last couple of years, been vandalised resulting in the loss of their eggs so, hopefully, they will have more success in this new spot where we can keep an eye on them more easily. This is the female taking a break from sitting on the eggs while Dad takes his turn. I've seen two eggs but I've heard varying accounts of more up to six. I suppose we'll know for certain when we see some chicks in a month or two. :-) ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 9-Apr-2010
