Description

A profusion of yellow in the dunes just above the beach at Fort Worden, Washington. Tough plants and sea grass anchor the sand dunes from erosion by the sea along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Oops, I just discovered this non-native Scotch Broom to be considered an invasive weed in the USA. Click Here for details Bill:) "Old Soldier" thumb_2050337.jpg

Sounds like the ingredients for a soap! A super pic! I'd heard that the Americans don't want it there..revenge for your grey squirrel!

The ocean so blue! Nonpareil clarity, colors and lighting really bring this collage to the fore, Bill!

Yeah, you've gotta watch those invasive weeds that masquarade as pretty, photographer-friendly flowers. Sneaky rascals! But they make for a lovely photo, and you've definitely made them look lovely here! Great photo, Bill!

Wonderful shots, exotic invasive's are so hard to get under control, especially when they look so pretty!

Super captures, and this broom is an invasive weed here too but it makes a lovely frame for your photo. The sea looks lovely today too.

Beautiful capture of the straits. Invasive or not - they are holding those dunes in place. Dana

This is very pretty, to be sure, but you would not believe how invasive and noxious Scotch Broom is. The seeds are viable for up to thirty years, so clearing out a stand of it is just the beginning.

Scotch broom is very invasive, too bad, cuz it's really beautiful---love the contrast of the bloom and the sea!!

I believe they are invasive plants in Canada too, but they are so gorgeous! Wonderful contrast between the blue and yellow in a wonderfully composed shot Bill! :)
