Description
Lisa and I ate at the Pirate House restaurant in Savannah, GA, and I snapped this shot while waiting for our meal to arrive. Only later did I learn that other patrons and employees were capturing images of ghostly heads and figures in the windows of the old restaurant Do you see a face in the window or do you think it is just a trick of the light?
I also see a face to the left in the wooden seat-back, but that is likely just a pareidolia. EDIT: FYI - there was nothing in the room to reflect such a thing in the window. Only the couple across from us, the tables, and the blank wall.

I do see the face, it doesn't appear to be caused by the light. There is no body under it, so it's not a person standing by the window. A real wild photo.

Yep, I see them too. I am a firm believer in these things. Great catch. Aloha

Very cool capture! While I believe in things that go bump in the night, I'd have to say after looking closely at your thumbnail that this is some sort of reflection as you can partially see the same scene albeit a bit lower, in the pane directly to the left of the center pane. Of course, that's not to say that your apparition wasn't standing across the room and his reflection was caught in both windows. I'm sure I just answered the question clearly (as clear as muddy water, that is...) : )

You have caught something very interesting. I bet if you go back to that Pirate House restaurant, you won't be able to duplicate this capture. Its a one of a kind. Interesting Ghostly find.... Aloha

Quite the interesting shot Kort... I can see the face on the window, as well as the distorted one in the wood grain on the lower left of frame. While there are any number of possible explanations for their appearance, it certainly makes for an atmospheric photo. Granted, some people will always scoff at any sort of paranormal explanation, but given Savannah's reputation, it's within the realm of possibility.

Pareidolia? That word sure ain't in my late edition of Webster's New World College Dictionary. Stellar lighting and sepialike effects in this photograph of the Pirate House restaurant, probably harboring the restless spirits of the long deceased, Kort.

What an intriguing photograph. Supernatural or not, it's a stunning shot and I love the lighting, the sense of color and the perfect mood. As for the face in the window, it's funny. I was actually talking to a friend of mine about opening a "haunted" restaurant and installing "random" windows with faint holographic images etched into them. I wonder if this in so mundane away could be someone beating me and my friend Pavl to an idea we'll never actually get around to making a reality. We got the idea while walking around Prague and noticing a bunch of modern day curios in souvenier shops...photographs laser-etched into glass; you don't see the etching or any marks, but when light hits the glass at a particular angle, you see Aunt Mavis waving at you from in front of Prague Castle or something like that, so I wonder if the same process has been used on that window and you were sitting at the right angle. If so, it's STILL a ghost, which is what's so cool about this photo...any reality behind it is likely to be interesting, and it's a darn good photo to boot!

Ooooooo wicked!!! I do see both faces, the one in the window and the one on the back of the wooden-seat! My!! That kinda stuff fascinates me! How did you manage to capture that Kortalouche?? Thanks for sharing anyhow, it's a fantastic shot in every way!

Neat one, Kort. This beats the "voices" in static on television ghost searchers.

This is great. When I was a kid (probably 16) I saw a blurry woman standing across the street sweeping with a broom and wearing clothing from the 18th century! I stood up and she disappeared. sat down and she appeared. I moved my head around, and found that there was a mailbox, and some weeds creating my "ghost". Our minds like to make order out of chaos - wish I had a picture of that "aperation", but you got a picture of yours!
