Description

I've always been fascinated by the artistic production of the late 19th-early 20th centuries. The voluptuously restless statues, look in a provocative way at the passers-by; their robes and cloaks are always shown as if frozen by a chilly wind in a convulsive movement. Here I also like the big martial, mysterious faces framing the main sculpture. I'm not surprised that many movies, such as the immortal Ghostbusters, were located in Fin de siècle buildings! Originally this palace was the site of the Royal Court, built around 1383. It continued to be the main residence of the city's rulers until 1483,then the building became a seminary and later a military academy. It was eventually demolished in 1903. The site of the demolished palace was quickly filled in with the construction of a large cultural center and concert hall.Completed in 1911, the Municipal House is now Prague's most spectacular Art Nouveau building. Thank you for your kind comments.

Io provo comunque a catapultarmi fuori.Ciao , buona giornata

That has to be my favorite period for architecture, especially the unconventional free flowing lines of Art Nouveau

This is quite fascinating, and you've captured one of the places in Prague I've never been to. I've been by it but never in it. I love the sense of dynamic motion in this capture, and the way that you also captured the essence of the older portions of Prague--the part of the city where faces and occasionally random body parts will stick out for no apparent reason beyond decoration. The sense of color is astounding here. In short, this is another marvelous piece of work! I love the information as well.
