Description
As Chipka commented in my last posting, one can't stop seeing the strangest statues on the roofs and the facades of the buildings in Prague. Some are famous, others are more obscure,others belong to different periods, but all of them are very beautiful and help give the city her special flavour. I couldn't find why this particular subject was chosen here, so you can imagine any type of story.
Decorated with firefighter statues and a mosaic piece, this Art Nouveau building in Old Town Square was designed by Osvald Poliveka and finished in 1898. Now it houses the Ministry of Regional Development. This is the first of a small series.

Oh and wow just fabulous Sandra, and yes my art teacher taught me to always look up to see what surprised were in store when looking at rooftops, especially of old buildings - love this so much! hugs Jane xx

Superb Sandra. Not sure if that is gold leaf or gold paint, but this firefighter conjures up all sorts of stories in my mind. Nice dedi to Chip...a real Prague lover.

Effettivamente , a vedere dalle tue foto , c'e' una grande varieta' e quantita' di cose belle e curiose da vedere , che merita vedere. Qui un po' meglio : tre volte sono uscito col sole e tre volte sono scappato per la pioggia ( a un certo punto stamani mi sono accorto che pioveva solo a Bozzano dove ero io! )Mentre pioveva sono dovuto andare a Pitrasante e poi a Querceta e appena arrivato a Massarosa er tutto asciutto. l'acqua mi ha aspettato al ritorno )
