UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

impressive interior! I've drawed my whole life, but my first artimpression came after the big war, when they told us about the hidden pantings, to protect them from the germans. RS

I should need to write a short novel to answer your question, Bill! A superb pic: I miss this part of my job as an art teacher, but not enough to come out of retirement!! Those pillars are 'something else', as they say!

Oh yeah, I remember it... we've seen lots of ancient gold, ancient weaponry and lots and lots of interesting things. Probably due to that trip, I'd started to love history... Excellent shot, great view!

Er! No! To be honest, my trips were to, as you'd expect, Science Museum, London, Natural History Museum London & Imperial War Museum.... those were my first memories.. The only art museum I have ever been to was one of Military painting (lol), up in Leeds I believe... I think there's a word for me! LOL.... But, I love the columns... These make a wonderful picture and I DO appreciate good architecture.. Good shot.. Rob

I can just imagine the wonder of those kids walking into that entrance hall. It's pretty overwhelming even for us 'big kids.' Those columns are amazing, and the light in this hall has always made me want to just shoot it from every possible angle. Great photo, Bill!

Beautiful building. It is amazing visiting the Natural History Museum in London, you can spend days in there. As to art, never liked it at school as I couldn't do it, not an arty bone in my body :o)

My dad use to take one of his days of during the week, and he would take us everywhere, the beaches the zoo,and one place he took us was to all the museums in Los Angeles, so yes I remember it all well, wonderful memories. Also went to them on school field trips.. Nice work, have a great weekend.

I remember vividly my first time in a museum in Los Angeles and visiting the Egyptian mummy exhibit; to me it smelled ancient, in a really interesting and almost frightening way, even though it was behind glass. This shot is excellent, I love those marble pillars--I could spend a lot of time just shooting them!

Very beautiful capture

Great shot, bill. I really don't recall who instilled the love of art in me. My father was a reader and I've inherited that trait. I think I drifted into photography during my Navy career - seeing some many places and wanting to remember them. Bought a 35mm SLR on my first visit to Japan.

You've opened a floodgate of memories here, Bill, and what a great thing!! Believe it or not, my first visit to a real museum was just two years ago--the High Museum in Atlanta. One of my best and oldest friends took me. I was literally moved to tears by some of the art I saw. It simply whet my appetite for more.

Such a fine shot indeed. Nobody did. I was never in an art Museum as a child. But my mom painted and from there, I got my interess for art.
