Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

The armour is beautiful, what work went into that. I do feel for the horse though :o)

Great pic and I loved the knight's armor that was on display at several museums in Chicago when I was a kid. The Art Institute has some cool stuff.

That is very finely made armor. How much you say. :) About 3/4 million U.S. dollars by todays standards and that does not include the Clydesdale horse or it's armor. Excellent capture!

Wonderful indeed! Thanks for the big image so the detail can be seen.

What an amazing piece of work, both the armor itself and the photograph of it! I have no romantic notions of life in the days when such armor was "state of the art" but I must say that there is a certain visual aesthetic that I love, that and the fact that it's the direct history of friends I've come to know...Pavl foremost among them; there's something to be said for seeing something like this and realizing that a human being wore it and that human's direct descendants might be alive today and that those same direct descendants might be guys like Pavl (or in Italian, Paolo.) I love the fact that so much has been evoked. And yes, this is an intricate and gorgeous piece of work, a marvelous display of brute force and fine, elegant detail: it's such a paradox, as is most of human life. This is brilliant!

Stunning Bill, as a child I always wanted to be this guy. You've caught so much detail in this, the true sign of rank and status in it's day. A most expensive piece of kit, that could be stopped by the cheapest...the English longbow.Still very nice to look at.

I can only imagine the time and dedication it took to create this - so much detail and care invested. The armour maker must have been devastated if his liege was injured in battle. I like your composition, Clive

The etched armor is so fantastic and so is this shot. I hope that you have more. Dana
