Description
It was Lucky for the humans that the bots had joined them. They knew of secret places dwarves used to store caches of food when traveling between their mining operations. They found one such cache with sufficient food stocks and water to refresh the questors. There was even some lubricants to apply to the bots. After resting up a bit, the questors continued on their journey. They decided to try traveling along the edge of the mountain range toward the setting sun. The further they got, the more impossible a passage over the mountains looked.
'I guess we should have tried crossing back where we first came out of the forest,' said the Lion.
The golden bot shook his head in disagreement. 'If memory serves me right, I believe we should find an entrance to underground caverns before long. Although the terrain seems a bit different from what I recall, there are certain landmarks that have remained virtually the same,' he said.
They continued along for another few hours when much to their surprise, they heard what sounded like a whistle of a train. They couldn't believe their ears! They looked around, and then looked around some more. Once again, they heard the whistle getting closer. One of them happened to look skyward and to his great astonishment, there was a huge, old paddle wheel air ship in the distance. It seemed to be floating along with the wind. Just then, a loud male voice floated over the landscape. 'Hello down there! Can you please lend a hand? My air ship is broken down and I don't have any help on board to help fix it!'
The questors felt sorry for the pilot and all ran closer to the airship. The pilot threw a heavy rope over the edge of the ship which dropped to the ground near the questors. They all quickly grabbed onto it and everyone hung on for dear life.
'What do we do now?' bellered the Lion to the pilot!
'Look around and see if you can't find a rock or something to latch the rope onto! I lost my anchor! At least I can't find it, or I wouldn't be in this pickle!'
At first, there didn't seem to be anyplace to secure the rope. The ship pulled them all further and further down the edge of the mountains. Luckily, a huge boulder appeared in a hollow, and they were able to tie the rope around it securely enough to stop the ship from drifting. There was a huge look of gratitude in the pilot's eyes when he realized his ship had stopped drifting.
'I can't thank you enough, gentlemen! I only hope there is some way I can repay you for your kindness!
Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!
