Description
Another view of the sculptures of the Municipal House. This is the opposite side of the dome, and you can see a part of the mosaic.
The Municipal House is a mixture of several architectural styles of the 19 th century. You can see neo-Renaissance, neo-Baroque and especially Art Nouveau features there. There is a mosaic above the decorative entrance, called Prague Apotheosis. The inscription above reads 'Resist the time wrath, Prague, as you resisted all the thunders!' The allegorical sculptures at the sides represent the nation.

I am split with the postwork - I am a big fan of 3D-ish looks - you have done a splendid job with that - for me I feel a lack of texture it is almost to smooth and sort of unreal - this is such a great capture and subject - but I feel sort of lost in viewing and reacting ! The line between the sky and roof is distracting from the validity of what I think you want here - I hope this is meaningful for this is such wonderful work - I am not a expert but I do care -

even when you don't convey a story or a series with history behind it, etc, you still pose questions, answer questions, give us the background we need to understand the context, etc. I appreciate your translating things like this inscription, and explaining the function of some of these designs. And the photo really understands the language of this architecture: It allows the spill and overgrown-design to take it over. The central figures---ie, the woman (with a raptor of some kind, I presume) and the man behind---are carved to spill down onto the arches & their supports; and your angle puts them right into the center & allows us to feel their drama and opulent presence. And you've caught dramatic angles and allowed the dome to loom above it all so we see all the worlds these styles of architecture have. What a mix of styles (as you suggest), with the tiled roofs, the mosaic, the sheer stone, the glassed dome, etc. A wise shot; you understand the language of the design. And it's dramatic too. Another fine capture from you, I know you've posted others like it, I'll come back & try to sit with some soon...
