Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I'm sure there is too, maybe a break water wall for protecting something. Nice capture..

Breakwater? Groin to stop the erosion of the bank? Errrrrm?

Bird-perches! Very interesting photo!

It's a giant aquatic pinball bumper? Well, maybe not. At any rate it's quite a striking scene and I'm glad you captured it. I think it looks a bit lonely there, like there might have been another part to it at some point, but the other part is now gone. Was there logging in the area, because it could be something used to guide floating logs, only it's the last one standing? You've photographed a mystery, and it is a darn good photo!

Other than offering great grist for photo water reflections, I can't conceive of any rational reason for the existence of this odd wall, M.

I'd have to see what else was around there to make a good guess at the purpose. There always is one, you know, regardless of people's speculations! LOL! Wonderful capture. You got a lot of great shots down there while Denise and I were fiddling around in the parking lot!

I'm sure it slows down the current, keep the debris out and making a nice place land your boat. Interesting capture. Aloha
