For those people who feel a white picket fence makes a home, then Port Gamble, Washington would be your bliss. All the houses are surrounded by them.

I love them, great shot Marilyn! It was every girls dream when I was a child to get married, have the house with the white picket fence and live happily ever after...I am so happy that I can come and visit your gallery, I am sorry its taken so long and I so appreciate your visits and support to mine in my absence. I love your comments, thanks also for all the birthday wishes you left for me:-) And the big YAY! yesterday for my health, I so appreciate it! Tomorrow I get my new glasses so one more positive outlook!

Wonderful capture of probably the longest white picket fence in the world! It did seem to go on forever, didn't it?

Stunning! I just love white picket fences! Here in SA you only see 8ft walls with electric fencing on top! :(

Makes a very nice pattern added to the texture of the sidewalk. Dana

Very nice POV in this shot of the fence, with those strange square things on top, Marilyn. Are those so kids can walk on top of them? We've got tons of white picket fences down here in my neck of the woods, some of them as long as this one, and a few just a mere five feet or so in length.

Great shot. This produces such a feeling of nostalgia. When I was younger I wanted a little Craftsman house with a white picket fence. I guess I'm just a girly-man.

I'd be the weirdo on the block with a purple picket fence with green polka-dots on it. But I have to say that there is a particular appeal to white picket fences; I think it's all of the implications they have of calm and restful life, of sitting on the porch with lemonade, listening to the buzz of bees in the lilacs, while the neighbor's kids set fire to their toys. Oh, wait! What neighborhood did I just describe? But then what neighborhood is complete without white picket fences and pyromaniac kids? I really like the perspective of this, the way the pickets are so crisp. I like the vanishing perspective of the sidewalk too. This is quite a marvelous shot!
