Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nice aerial capture Marilyn. yep now we want the trains back here too after they ripped up all the rails to many places. They took out rail yards and built buildings where these were because it was "prime" Real estate.. No for thought except for the easy quick money. this happened not 500 metres from where I sit now..

What a fantastic aerial shot! I am so jealous. I read that someday, hopefully before we all die, they will be replacing all of this with a new, more eathquake resistant, span.

Excellent shot! As many times as I've driven across it I never really realized how big the L-curve is at the island. Your pilot gave you a great aerial tour of the city!

In regards to Marks comment, in the full view you can see that new more earthquake resistant bridge being built. It is the whiter bridge that the barge and crane are next to. Outstanding image! An instant fav!

People need to pay you to fly and take pictures of stuff! For as much as you love the ocean, I think the air might be your element too; you have such an instinctive knack for catching just the right view (or getting the perfect window seat that gives you the perfect view.) And I have to say that you'd love flying over Prague. That city is amazing from the air and the Vltava River does some interesting things! But back to this shot: WOW! You capture so much here, so many wonderful details. Everything seems so perfectly orchestrated, right down to the wakes of ferries. I love the details in this! And your choice of black and white really brings those details out, especially that nice haze. At least I hope it's nice haze and not car farts. This is a perfect image!
