I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Nice! There's someone in my neighborhood that does this stuff, but I've never seen him (or her), just rocks in the yard.

Nine years ago we've visited San Francisco, and on the waterfront was a man building these rockpiles in the water. Great to see how gravity and elegance come together in this art. Excellently done! RS

This is just too cool, Michael! Keep going, and you'll have your own Stonehenge before long! I am bound and determined to try this - my rocks are all limestone and some 'junk' bits and pieces, not nice river rocks like yours, but I'll see what I can come up with! This is great!

Wild! (and I'm not talking about the lawn...)

I've been looking at your rock stacking for a long time, but never quite knew what to say about it. It's always fascinating, and I've told several people about your gallery. (You never know who's looking!) But THIS! Oh man. This is so above and beyond. Wow. This has an elegance that jumps off the screen. It's like jewelry, or fine sculpture. Don't ask me what the difference is ... but you've got my undivided attention here! Wonderful composition with the rocks, and your photographic pov is perfect.

Stonehenge was my first thought:-) and then Garden of the Gods. Its simply marvelous what you do with the rocks. Maybe I will give it a try this summer, would be a great treat to have something so naturally beautiful! Wonderful work and shot!

These seem alive! I know at least conceptually that they're rocks, but the feeling I get when I see them, especially in this arrangement, is that they're living beings...kids listening to a teacher; members of the tribe listening to a storyteller...or any number of things like that. The feeling this evokes is quite profound and I love this for that! It's brilliant work.
