Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Maybe they were waiting for a truck to come careening around the bend so they could have YOU to lunch! Great capture!

Wonderful pic!

These Turkey Buzzards look great circling high in the air...majestic wing span, ability to glide and all...but they do have a menacing appearance up close. This bird is nature's clean-up man and you've captured him perfectly here:)

How bout some Din-Din... Great capture

At first glance I thought that was a chicken in a tree LOL - I see now - very cool

Really stellar shot of the rapacious bird, considering your hurried conditions, M. It may be just perched there, patiently waiting for something to die.

Lovely capture of this buzzard, don't think I have seen one this close up before.. Waiting, waiting, waiting, die darn you die lol..

What a majestic bird! Buzzards (vultures) are among my favorites, as we've all been told--mostly by Kojak--Bald is Beautiful. I love this critter's pose; he (she?) is definitely interested in something. Funny, I find these birds to be cute; I think it's because they always look so serious! You caught a fantastic shot here.

My God that's an ugly chicken.. OH! Never mind :-)

Superb portrait! For some reason I never thought of vultures as California birds (well, at least not outside of Hollywood). Poor birds get no respect.
