Description

Captured 5/25/09, in commemoration of my fellow veterans, both living and dead, at the beautiful Los Angeles National Cemetery in beautiful West Los Angeles, California. Much better viewed full size. More than 86,000 veterans, going back to the American Civil War, are interred there. Thankx for clicking on, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Well done. Hopefully folks take a little time to contemplate the real purpose of the day before heading to the beach or park or backyard barbeque.

Nice tribute my friend.. Since you are a fan of old vehicles this is for you: A member sent this to me thought you would enjoy it as well. A NY man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal. The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place. The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds. What was in the barn make sure to go to next at top of site and page through the photos to see WHAT was in the barn....

tennesseecowgirl: thanks for the site; not the best photography, but a real find within that huge barn. Hope they used a high pressure hose and soap to clean off the cars.

Super capture Harry and great dedication for our fallen heros. Wonderful tosee all those flags. It hurts to know that there are 86,000 in that one place. God bless them all. Dana
