Description

here are some more shot from yesterday, the fledgling on the ground and mum waiting in the wings (sorry for the pun!) they are still out there (who needs an alarm clock when you have Jackdaws just outside!) so tempting to go out and capture more but I'm trying to leave them alone so not to spook the parents. Marvelous! Such intense eyes, but Jackdaws are known for those eyes. I just recently learned that Jackdaws are those birds I'd heard about in the Czech Republic, known in Czech as "Kavka" of which "Kafka" is a variation--or at least a pun, but that makes sense since so many Czech Family names come from either animals or edible products like cheese. But aside from the whole Kavka/Kafka relationship, this is a stunning collage and you did an excellent job at capturing the essence of the Jackdaw species! This is really top notch, marvelous work.
