Description

BEST VIEWED LARGE - If you dare! : ) I didn't take this photo this last camping trip. I believe it was a couple of years ago but it was at the same place as we always camp. Holly has been bugging me to upload it. She thinks people will like it. I have my doubts since not very many people like snakes generally. We will see how many comments this gets. This beautiful, adult northern water snake was sunning itself at the edge of the water on an empty campsite about three sites down from us one day. I used my zoom so as not to get too close and scare it. These snakes are NOT venomous and are human shy and prefer to avoid interaction with humans. So, Roy, if Debbie sees this picture be sure to let her know this. Rod - Maybe you'd better not even mention this to Jo, LOL.

ROFL. I love that comment "Used my zoom lense so I wouldn't scare it." Man I need a zoom lense that would work from Houston. And I think I'll keep this one from Deb, I'm working on geting her up there for one of these amazing camping trips, and she wigged out at the little 5 inch garden snake in our back yard.

I encountered snakes at a very early age in Singapore (4 & 5) so was blissfully unaware that some snakes are potentially dangerous. Excellent shot! Steve :o)
