Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I have heard of it many times but have never seen it! Yikes - I would hate an encounter with them!!! Great shot Marilyn!

I've never known what it looked like; I know I must have seen it thousands of times, it's just fortunate that I never came in contact in my ignorance!

I'll make sure to avoid it! I understand it's the oil in these things that's the culprit, which is why it's hard to get rid of the itch.

Growing up in New England you have all three, poison oak, sumac, and ivy. Have been exposed to all three and personally think poison sumac is the worst! A nice picture of this itchy subject!

Super duper light and dark contrast in this sharpie, Maz! Glad you warned me about the poison oak, because these leaves look so harmless I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and your more benign type of plants. As for the title, it's the same thing I see on the signs on windshields at auto shows.

Naaaah, I am not alergic to it nor ivy. For me it is the stinging insects, Nice shot of this Calamine Contender!!!
