Description

OK, everyone grab your Mellencamp CDs and sing along: When the walls come tumblin’ down When the walls come crumblin’ crumblin’ When the walls come tumblin’ tumblin’ down….. I drove past an old grain elevator they're demolishing in North Kansas City, yesterday, and couldn’t resist the urge to stop and get a few photos of some good, old-fashioned destruction! I had my Canon Digital Rebel with me, so I plunked the 100-300mm zoom lens on, and found a good spot to park. I ended up with a couple hundred photos of that wrecking ball hitting the building. This sequence is my favorite. Thanks for all your comments on my No Parking post! I hope to have the next page the TNA Girls’ adventure ready by the weekend. As I upload this, my Poser computer is in the middle of a complex render with the girls in the Hype Club with lots of lights, reflections and transparencies.

That place is a 'wreck'!! But the guy running the crane is probably having a 'ball'. Sorry sheepish grin couldn't resist that! I love watching buildings coming down...don't know why, LOL. I haven't seen one taken down by a wrecking ball in a while. Now a days you usually see them come down with carefully place dynamite. Neat shot!

Good idea taking your camera on all your rounds Rod. I'll bet there is at least a picture a day just waiting for you to discover it. This sequence is powerful...I can hear the crash or maybe thump or maybe whack. Whatever the sound, I can smell the concrete dust...oooooo, pass me a mask, woodcha? Like it Rod...and your title is perfect:)

Well, I suppose that with your line of work you really like the idea of smashing stuff don't you Rod, LOL? I'm sure you want to smash a lot of those copiers you encounter in your day-to-day routine. Wise idea to vent your frustrations by watching a building demolition rather then bust up a customer's Xerox machine, eh? LOL! Good thinking and nice shooting.
