Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I remember seeing this scene in your earlier posting. What a great view. I love sailing. Don't laugh but I have never sailed anything like this, just my sail board!

The power of three! Lovely and perfectly composed shot Marilyn!

That red sail sticks out so nicely, especially since blue is such a dominant color here. The whole blue tint seems vaguely ultraviolet in nature--and for me, that's quite fascinating. It brings a different sort of focus to the whole image. I think that's what makes the red such a sharp contrast and it's perfect that the red is NOT centered! Yeah...quite nice.

Nicely done Marilyn...this had an atmosphere that is right up my alley. As an old motorboat kind of guy, I was completely blown away 20 years ago when I got my first afternoon aboard a smooth sailing, silent-running sail boat.... This image reminds me of that kind of an afternoon....feet up, kicking back...:)
