Description

I don't often shoot spiders (except jumpers) since I find them to be too common for my tastes. But when I saw this crawling around after watering and seeing the cool color it had, I had to bring it inside for a couple shots. I believe this is just an Orb Weaver, but I have never seen one that is orange like this. Photo'd on some black paper. Thanks for looking. -Bruce PS FULL SIZE for the creepy-crawlies.

If you've got spiders like that and you call them 'common', I'd hate to see the exotic ones. Our British spiders are mainly grey....like our sky.

I've not seen an orb spinner like this one before, and I must say that the orange color is quite amazing! I love the details you've captured. Since I'm not a part of any spider's diet, I love getting up close and personal--enough so to count their hairs and eyes and even see their rotator-cuff joints. This is a marvelous, exquisitely detailed photograph. Wonderful!

Excellent....black paper is a good idea. I will have to try that...I just bought the macro ring lite so I have to figure out how to use it.
