My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Beautiful, beautiful rose, Tara! Wonderful photo of this beauty! And I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Tangerine Dream! I have a ton of thier music! I'll admit some of it is a bit avant-garde, but most of the stuff I have is really kick-butt! I couldn't help but smile at the title of this one! :-D

Your title actually made me think of the line in Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds-- "Picture yourself in a boat on a river, With tangerine trees and marmalade skies" Guess that's TWO lines, but either way, your foto has a dreamy, soft look that's simply gorgeous. And the color--well, good enough to eat!!

What a shot! WOW! I love that color, and I have to admit that I'm not too crazy about Tangerine Dream either...well I DO like their soundtrack to the film, Legend with Tom Cruise, Mia Sara (Whatever happened to her?) and Tim Curry in rather extravagant makeup and costuming...but in all honesty, the visuals and the music are about all that I like in terms of that movie. It's a Ridley Scott flick, and it had such potential, but the visuals far outweighed the plot and the acting was...well...aside from Tim Curry as Darkness--you really should check out that costume!--the film was quite underwhelming. Jerry Goldsmith did the original score, and you can hear it in the European version of the film: it's a bit quirky, but then Jerry Goldsmith did some quirky stuff; it's good, solid movie-score music, but it's also a wee bit too heavy in the fairytale-motif department. Tangerine Dream did the American version of the score, and that's the one everyone of this side of the pond knows. Funny...I think it's the best music they've done...it's not marvelously excellent, but there's a bit (when Darkness is on the rampage) that actually reaches Interest Level 9...there's an eerie waltz as well and that reaches a solid Interest Level 8...and indeed, the whole score is pretty good, as an 80s era soundtrack that's heavy on the synthesizers and somewhat...well...80s-dated and quaint now. But yeah, I've attempted to listen to OTHER examples of Tangerine Dream's work...and well...I've forgotten nearly all of it. Are they even still around? Wouldn't they be Slightly Rusty Vermillion Dream now, since they're a lot older and their color has probably darkened? WOW! I just looked back at what I wrote! Jeez, when I'm on a tear! Thankfully you didn't make a reference to The Eurythmics! I'd still be spewing all sorts of 80s Nostalgia right now, and probably launching into an analysis of a little known Eurythmics gem: the score to the film 1984 and the loopiness of Annie Lennox singing such gems as "Doubleplus Good," "Room 101" and "Sexcrime." Jeez! I should go looking for that! It's a humdinger of 80s Synth-excess, with "jungle drums." Remember those? I think the song "Julia" actually hit the Billboard Charts, but I'm not certain. Corey would know! Okay, NOW I'm really gonna tone it down and just focus on this shot! You know, I find it quite hard to do floral shots. I have a few that came out okay, but all in all, they're not the easiest thing for me. My timing is...um...unique. I point my camera at a colorful thing stuck to the top of a plant and a breeze starts! It never fails. So then I get a flower-colored blur with a green spot on it! So, needless to say, I'm quite impressed with any kind of floral shot...especially one that has these kinds of details. I mean, look at those petals! Those petals have petals! And I really like the not-yet-open bud; it reminds me of a piece of jewelry for some reason. That's the first thing I noticed, probably because I like the way it looks as if it's held with those little clasps you see on antique rings. The light in this is great also, I love the variation in it. So, after ranting on and on, and on a bit, I'm gonna just stop right here and tell you that I really like this a lot!

After the last comment, Great shot seems inadequate, but I'm a man of few words.
