My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Fantastic capture, Tara! love the intent looks on the faces

So you were hanging from the backstop? The blur on the ball, the faces of the spectators and the clarity are all outstanding. I'm guessing handheld telephoto which makes it even more impressive.

Nice shot Tara but how was their shot did it go in LOL, excellent!!

Great focus of attention..and how the orange helps in the composition!

Wonderful shot! The spectators look much more involved in this photo, than in some of the others you took!
helanker
Yes they are really focused on that ball and so serious too :-)) Excellent shot Tara :-)

Ha, love "the eye" of the girl in the front row...seems to be perfectly framed by a diamond shaped loop in the basketball net. Great shot of the opposing basket...no doubt these spectators are rooting for a miss here:)

Brilliant timing!! love the faces and can just picture them exploding into rapturous screaming!!! Or not! Well caught.. Rob

Perhaps not their team scoring? those aren't very happy faces although they are intent. :-)
MrsRatbag
Excellent capture, it does look like you were right on top of the net!

WOW - what an action shot! I agree with PJ - this is not "their" team scoring here!!! Wonderful catch Dierbaar!!! :))

Didn't know you went. One of the owners is a friend.

Well seen and taken, Tara! I like the way the ball is blurred with motion, while everything else is sharp. I think the guy in the back row is trying to use a Jedi mind trick on the ball, though, from the look of it.

Really NICE action shot...what makes it particularly spectacular is that it's an action shot but the major human participants are static! One of them is kinda cute too...meow!...but I'm not going any farther than that on commentaries regarding spectators at a basketball game. However, I will say that this is quite marvelous! I love the choice of POV here and the unexpected sort of "reverse focus." If that makes sense...I mean, the sharpest focus ISN'T the ball, but it's the anchor that drives the whole composition...and well...it's a really great photo for the way it plays with what you expect to be the focus, the background, and the sense of action. It's all there, and it really brings the game in all of its play-by-play glory right onto my screen, and it does so in a cinematic way, which works really well. Yeah. I like this!
