Description

Okay, as I promised (or threatened), here is one more shot from the Fourth. It's not the greatest capture, but I liked it when I first saw it. I didn't do much with it after cropping and resizing, since I wanted to keep the masts of the boats visible. While this is a series of fireworks going up from the end of the ore dock at the end (for part of the finale), this could easily be something shooting down from the sky as well. At least, that was my first thought when I saw this. Now, back to rendering.

If you wouldn't have mentioned the boat's masts, I wouldn't have looked for it because of the angle... don't know how religious you are, but it you turned this so the length was the longest part of the picture and you painted out the lines of the rope, you could make this a cross image and extend some rays from the light - I think your picture is gorgeous alone how it is, but if you wanted to make a religios picture from it, this would be another awesome picture.

It looks like the aliens have started shooting at us and plan to take over the world in short order

And of course, Will Smith will come to the rescue, punch an alien in the face and our President will hop into a fighter jet armed with nukes. Would make for a great movie, don't ya think?

This is really interesting and well done but I think I would have liked it just as much if it had been straight rather than tilted. It has great appeal with the masts included.

I am convinced you have photographed a UFO attack and you should send this one to the Nation Enquire and cash in on it! ;O)

I really like this shot for numerous reasons: one of which is the way in which it actually resembles a battle scene from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. Those trails look like the exhaust trails of missiles racing to a Colonial (or Cylon) target, or like particle weapons fire. The explosions are quite intense and look as if they're glowing at the hearts of expanding shells of debris...all that's missing are squadrons of Colonial vipers going nose to nose with AI-Sentient Cylon raiders. As a photograph without BSG references, this is a marvelous shot and quite engaging. This is most-definitely a top-notch photograph, worthy of multiple viewings.

That is fantastic, I keep staring at those sky-bursts, the lines of the masts and rigging, it's a very striking and original shot.
