My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

My second husband's grandfather used to carve decoys. He was from a time long past but insisted the only good decoy was a well carved one. I have had several plastic one but they just don't hold a candle to the handmade ones.
Faemike55
yep! they be carved and nicely too! Excellent workmanship on these two!

So my eyes are not completely gone? These are very good! I've always thought decoys were a bit unfair. Some young drake thiks he's found a new girlfriend and gets blasted out of the sky as he approaches. His final thought probably being, "Hey, you could have just said no."

Marvelous! It's been a long time since I've seen decoy ducks up close...well...I've never seen decoy ducks up close, so I guess that would count as a long time, now wouldn't it? I'm really taken by the details. The feathers look all feathery and wonderfully etched, a bit like real feathers would look on a duck at rest. WOW! This is a great pair!. Yep...M R Ducks!

They are good!

I'm trying to imagine what decoy's are actually used for. Is it to attract other ducks to the pond for hunting? Hmmm I've never thought about it before!!!
bazza
They are wonderful decoys real ducks would go quackers over them..
bmac62
Say, these ducks were floating in a pond where no hunting is ever allowed...I get it...these guys are just there to bring other ducks in to enhance the already peaceful scenery. Nice capture with some great reflections:)

Good workmanship on these. :) I'm glad they are not being use for hunting, the store bought duck is better for eating anyway. Excellent captures!
