Description

This is a slight variation of my previous work. It looks none too realistic, this I know. More, this is a demonstration of TG2’s immense capability of terrain generation and the amount of detail its renderer can produce. Again, I did not use the strata / outcrop shader, but functions only. Also, the horizontal outcrops are a result of my applying the warp shader in lieu of redirect. I’ll let it be known that I did not develop any of the function node set-ups, but that I borrowed them from the File Sharing section of the Planetside Forum. All I did was to apply them and adjust the settings. My deep thanks go to each one who contributes his or her work. I am learning much from them. On a personal note: I know that there are those who will be perfectly content using TG2 as solely as a platform for object placement. Many are really good at it, too. But for me it would be a waste of sorts. I will always use TG2 as a terrain generator first. That is its most powerful function, and I intend to exploit it both to its limits and to the best of my abilities. Thanks for looking in!

Yeah, that's a big ugly one, but a good one demonstrating your rapid progress!

The details from base to apex are pleasing. I would expect you'll be using these elements for future scenes. In all, it is good to see your experimentation.

Looks like an enormous petrified whoopsie; ah but the beauty is in the detail. Your enjoying yourself far too much. Excellent work.

That it is, but it's cool and fascinating, too. I've not had a go at functions- I'm pretty intimidated. Have to learn more about them. Your sky fits the scene. Those deep wrinkles/ridges are gross and very cool. Super surface!
