I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Much as I love the big cats I would never do that. Nice to take pictures of other people that do, though.

My cat does this all of the time, of course he is a bit smaller. :c) Now I know where they get it.

I could not believe my eyes...spotting this most unusual pose; I must say that is pretty gutsy and completely trusting, one another. I had to laugh at Chaosphoto (Martin's) comment. outstanding image, Carin BB

Okay, the tiger licked him? THAT makes me wonder if Tiger tongues are sandpapery also! I know that they can't purr like house-cats. Well, they can, but only during either inhalation or exhalation, not both. None of this is really important, but it does pop into my mind. As for allowing a tiger this close? Well, better him than me...I'm sure that tigers are just big striped pussycats, but it's the big part that gets me...they can potentially see humans as prey and well...that might be good for them but not so good for the hapless human. Of course I'm also wondering just how tiger-like this tiger actually sees this trainer/clown. Felines do tend to view non-feline companions as particularly ugly cats, so I wonder if this tiger sees him/herself just mucking around with a particularly ugly tiger. Ah...animal psychology...it's fun stuff! And this is a fun picture! It gave me a fantastic giggle and inspired me to go on and on about stuff that's only tangentially related to this great shot.

Oh my! Is this "catnip" or "catnap"? Ha, don't worry Shari, I am way too fast on the sprint for this to happen to me. It's about time you delve into archives Carin, it's worth it if I look at the example above.
