I WANT YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE 2012 STORY
A far more apocalyptic view of the year 2012 has also spread in various media. This view has been promulgated by History Channel with the series Decoding the Past (2005–2007), and its segment on the Mayan calendar, based loosely on John Major Jenkins' theories. However, Jenkins has berated the fact that a science fiction writer co-authored the documentary and went on to characterize it as "45 minutes of unabashed doomsday hype and the worst kind of inane sensationalism".
The show proved popular and was followed by many sequels: 2012, End of Days (2006), Last Days on Earth (2006), Seven Signs of the Apocalypse (2007), and Nostradamus 2012 (2008). Discovery Channel also aired 2012 Apocalypse in 2009, suggesting that massive solar storms, magnetic pole reversal, earthquakes, supervolcanoes, and other drastic natural events may occur in 2012.
Evangelical Christian minister John Hagee has also suggested in his book Can America Survive? 10 Prophetic Signs That We Are The Terminal Generation that Earth may suffer a doomsday scenario on 12/12/12 (December 12, 2012).

Remember the hype about Y2K? how all the computers were going belly up? well... It seem like every thousand years we have someone crying the end of the world is near and everyone must pray to (your church's belief system here) and of course give all you worldly possessions to the leader. If it happens, the IRS has a backup plan to collect your taxes, so what the heck. Great render

Personally I think about 99.99999999% of it is media sensationalist B.S. I'm no expert on the Mayans, but my own thought is that as someone said above, thier calendar was based on cycles, with nothing more threatening in mind than knowing when to plant thier crops. Besides, when God is ready to wipe the slate clean, I don't think there's much we can do about it. I got so sick and tired of all that crap on the Doom & Gloom Channel (AKA History Channel), I hardly watch it any more. Cool render, by the way!!

Nope, I think all that doomsday stuff is pure hype for ratings. The feeling of impending doom naturally draws people to watch, so more people watch the commercials, meaning advertisers spend more for those spots and are guaranteed an audience. It's all about the cash flow.

The Maya calendar was suppose ably a long cycle calender the end of one cycle.. Re Anitalee.. the line up of the planets happened in 1982 also and didn't do much then... year 2000 big scare tactics before hand leading up to 2000 nothing happened... I believe God has it all in control, the Bible says Jesus Christ is to return and he is to reign 1000 yrs here on earth before the end, and before that a period of 7 yrs of Jacobs trouble, so thats 1007 yrs still to go. Prior to coming again, he comes for his church (true Believers)then with his church after the 7 yrs of Jacobs Trouble. The 7 yrs of Jacobs trouble is for the nation of Israel.. that is when the things in the book of Revelation happen, but there will be the "Beginning of sorrows" before that which is earthquakes and famine, and nation against nation and so on and the rise of a one world leader claiming to be the christ. Also Israel is to rebuild the temple on the Mount.. so I wouldn't start to worry about 2012 I would worry about being right with God ;-)

This is an interesting work and I'm not sure what to think about 2012 as I reckon something will happen to earth but just when, is anyone's guess unless the astromoners find something right on course to hit us.

all I know is that when 12.13.12 happens, I'll be happy... I may be in Heaven OR... I just might decide to stay home if it's a work day - lol... Imagine all the drinking going on on 12.12.12 - lol ... Now tell me, If it was really the end of the world, do you think you should drink yourself into a hangover? I say no, but I would bet more people will drink that day than any other day of the year - except for new years of course - and that's if we make it to 2013 - lol

The date is not for us to know. A great deal of money is made by these doomsday people. Hooey,...not worth the time to worry about it. For me...I am right with the Lord and look forward to every bright day between now and the day I am called home. I used to be a conspiracy theory guy...no more!!! Living today on the bright side of life.

The first Christians believed the end would come in their lifetime. They were wrong. In 999 A.D. people all across Europe prepared for the millennium when Jesus would certainly return. Many gave away all they had. On New Year's Eve 999, thousands of people stood in the streets waiting for the end. They were wrong. The Apocalyptic drumbeat increased as we approached the year 2000. Nothing happened. I'll send you a site mail on 12 13 12 so we can discuss the next date for the end of the world. Very cool image btw.

Fantastic depiction and interpretation... after seeing the movie 2012... it freaked me out a little, just thinking of what "might be"... great scenes, though a little over the top in the movie! What will happen, will happen! To all things there is a beginning and an end. But this will not be the end to all things, just the end to civilization as we know it. And our present calendars. (New orbit = New calendar) But that may be just my opinion. ;) Fantastic work Magick!
