Description
Monterey Bay Aquarium has been one of my favorites for years. Their exhibits focus mainly on the aquatic life and maritime ecosystem of the Monterey Bay.
This kelp forest tank displays the denizens of the kelp beds just yards offshore. The constant motion of the fish can become mesmerizing and it is a main congregating spot at the Aquarium. There are even tiers of bench where tired visitors can rest for a few minutes and just watch.
Getting this shot required a lot of patience, but in one brief instant the view opened up and only a fellow photographer and myself had the view all to ourselves.

Oh this is fantastic. I love all your shots and wish I had more time to comment on all of them. Such beautiful country you live in. Sometimes those hard to get shots end up being the ones you appreciate the most. I've been trying to capture lightening on film-it's almost impossible with digital as i understand it-for years without much success. When i do though, it will be fantastic i'm sure! Looks like a cool place to hang out. watching fish can be amazingly soothing. Great work as always!

Ahh yes!, One of my favorites in this aquarium, the tall tank. One can go up the stairs and view the mechanics and how it keeps this ecosystem in motion. Outstanding image!
