Description

As you know dogs are part of my life and I love them dearly and don't remember much of my life without them in it. It is 4 years this month since my little boy dog Rags died. He is the great grand-father of Carina you see in the picture laying down on your right, and in fact she looks very much like Rags. These are 3 of my pets who knew Rags, and in fact Mistapus had been in my life only 3 days when Rags died, and he played an enormous part in distracting me from the sadness in my heart. The girls Madelena and Carina were just 2 years old when Rags became ill aged 13 years, he had gone deaf and eventually died due to kidney failure. Each night Rags laid beside me in his bed at night, and the girls snuggled down the other side, as time grew closer to his passing to Rainbow Bridge. Rags had gone deaf and as soon as the girls saw me rising in the mornings, they both would enthusiastically go to Rags' bed, but instead of their usual boisterous greeting, both would gently put a paw on him and kiss his nose. Then he would follow them out to the garden for their morning ablusions, every move they made showed how much those girls loved the old chap. After Rags had died the girls were allowed to see him, so that they knew why he would not be back to see them. I was amazed what Carina did, and will never forget it. She knew that Rags loved his nylabones to chew, he always had one every day by his side, and his other love was a beaten up old teddy. She sniffed Rags' eyes and knew he was gone, and then ran off somewhere coming back with his nylabone and laid it beside him. Then quietly she walked off and into the other room, and did not look back, isn't that amazing? I could tell you so many stories of Rags and what he did during his lifetime, but know that your time is precious, so another day I will create a picture which features him. I hope you don't mind me being a bit indulgent with the one I present to you today as a tribute to a very dear friend. I send you all good wishes, and thank you for taking the time to visit me today, and hope that you enjoy your stay. Thanks for all your support of my previous posts, and for all the many wonderful comments and faves, and thank you to those who think me worthy enough to be put on their fave artists list. Love and hugs Jane xx Finepix S5000 photos of the girls and Mistapus and 4 red roses for each year since Rags said goodbye. Background by me. Beautiful. It is very painful to lose a pet. But you will feel happiness when you remember the days which you spend with them. I have many happy memories, too.

I am so glad you decided to put this beautiful memorial to Rags up on RR. I can remember you bringing him home, how he & Hattie, hit it off, he used to follow her around at the shows. He was there in the pouring rain the day Hattie became a Show Champion, sat under that umbrella. I remember going to shows with you & Rags, especially the day we went to Darlington on Toy day, I was there in my wellies & Barbour & all the toy owners were all dressed up in lovely clothes & shoes BUT I was the best dressed on the day as it rained. I had already been on Gundog day & the ground wasn't too good then :o) He was such a super little character always turned out to perfection. I know how much he meant to you & how much you miss him. You have his daughters & they are wonderful little girls & I look forward to seeing them on Friday along with their usual treats, I have bought a stash, I don't want to see their little faces like the last time I couldn't get any :o) Hope you & the four legs are well. Love & hugs to you all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is such a beautiful and heartfelt dedication. Your story of what Carina did brought tears to my eyes. My old baby, Pepper has been missing Manny. Manny was 15 when he died last month. Pepper is 14. I got them both as kittens. Pepper has started letting Rotella sleep closer to him, though she's not yet one and a bit much for him at times. They are all individuals and give us so much love. I'm sorry for your loss of Rags, and celebrate the joy he gave you. I look forward to his picture and story. This is beautifully done! It is a wonderful memorial to the life he shared with you and your sorrow at his passing. The grave and roses, the presence of his dear animal family, the ripples going on and on just as his presence in your heart goes on and on, and the light shining as he shines forever. It is a beautiful tribute. Thank you for sharing.
