Description

As you know dogs are part of my life and I love them dearly and don't remember much of my life without them in it. It is 4 years this month since my little boy dog Rags died. He is the great grand-father of Carina you see in the picture laying down on your right, and in fact she looks very much like Rags. These are 3 of my pets who knew Rags, and in fact Mistapus had been in my life only 3 days when Rags died, and he played an enormous part in distracting me from the sadness in my heart. The girls Madelena and Carina were just 2 years old when Rags became ill aged 13 years, he had gone deaf and eventually died due to kidney failure. Each night Rags laid beside me in his bed at night, and the girls snuggled down the other side, as time grew closer to his passing to Rainbow Bridge. Rags had gone deaf and as soon as the girls saw me rising in the mornings, they both would enthusiastically go to Rags' bed, but instead of their usual boisterous greeting, both would gently put a paw on him and kiss his nose. Then he would follow them out to the garden for their morning ablusions, every move they made showed how much those girls loved the old chap. After Rags had died the girls were allowed to see him, so that they knew why he would not be back to see them. I was amazed what Carina did, and will never forget it. She knew that Rags loved his nylabones to chew, he always had one every day by his side, and his other love was a beaten up old teddy. She sniffed Rags' eyes and knew he was gone, and then ran off somewhere coming back with his nylabone and laid it beside him. Then quietly she walked off and into the other room, and did not look back, isn't that amazing? I could tell you so many stories of Rags and what he did during his lifetime, but know that your time is precious, so another day I will create a picture which features him. I hope you don't mind me being a bit indulgent with the one I present to you today as a tribute to a very dear friend. I send you all good wishes, and thank you for taking the time to visit me today, and hope that you enjoy your stay. Thanks for all your support of my previous posts, and for all the many wonderful comments and faves, and thank you to those who think me worthy enough to be put on their fave artists list. Love and hugs Jane xx Finepix S5000 photos of the girls and Mistapus and 4 red roses for each year since Rags said goodbye. Background by me. What a nice render and I read about Rags with interest. A great story and it shows how great animals can bee. My cat Egon, my good friend, is getting older. Had him or 16 years and i love every day I spend with him. Have a nice weekend.

I am told the loss of a friend, furred or otherwise, gets easier to bear as time passes. That place in the heart that she/he held is still empty though, even if you have another to take care of. I think of my Mitzi every single day. Everywhere I take Barney, she and I walked, for almost 15 years. I'm sure it is the same for you and Rags. It is quite amazing what Carina did. What a wonderful way to say to goodbye to her friend. A wonderful tribute to Rags. ^=^

It is a very poignant that you tell us here Dear Jane... For me it is as beautiful as the Land of Blue which is one of my favourite poems. If you remember I once told you the story that I read in an old book that was published during WWI. The title of the story was Jill's cat. One morning, Jill was killed by a car and was brought to the garden. The cat arrived and invited Jill to play but the dog did not move. The cat smelled Jill and saw that she was dead. The next morning the cat had disappeared. The narrator concluded the story with this phrase that I will always remember: "And in the end, may those two little spirits find each other again...". You know Dear jane what you tell us here is a beautiful tribute to Rags. It is very sensitive and also wonderfully written. I can feel the love that you had for him through your so nice text... Carina's behaviour does not really surprise me because our dear pets are like us. They are happy, they are sad, they have feelings like us... And it is why Carina did what she did... Your image is beautiful and very special like all your images. I love them and this one particularly... I can see that even the butterflies, the dragonflies and the spiders are there with Rags friends... What a lovely image. Your style is pure, generous and rare. It is marvellous... Thank you Jane... Your friend, Philippe

Oh Jane, this brought tears to my eyes. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, but your remembrances of Rags are just beautiful. You could write a book about Rags adventures and doings, what a lovely way to remember him that would be! The art work is stunning dear Jane, it has such a serene quality, such softness, and sigh .. so ethereal.

If the cat was a dark gray she would look just like my cat dustie she too passed away from cancer. Acted more like a dog, stuck her tongue out when she was happy and always by my side. When she needed to bath she would lift her head and turn it from side to side (?) use to joke she was doing her Stevie Wonder impersonation. Her very loud high pitched meow was like no other. Sorry for your loss.
