Description
hello and welcome! thank you for taking the time to view my work, and an even bigger thanks to those who sacrifice enough time and effort to comment. i greatly appreciate it.
i've decided to keep going through my backlog first, so things are a little more sequential. that said, i had to repaint the hair on this one. it's still not as good as i'd like, but it's better than it was. darker hair is hard because it's really about very controlled minimalism. there's not actually very much shading to it. it might be time to start some pure painting from references.
this is V4 wearing the Vanessa texture with my adjustment of VSS PR2. i used bagginsbill's GenIBL to make the ambient light, and his environment sphere to make the scenery you can see out of the window (and went into the IBL. so this one inspires a big thanks to bagginsbill for all his wonderful and free tools!
the scene is P.I.C.K. from RDNA, and as cool as it is, i'd use it more sparingly in the future. it has incredibly useful pieces and great textures, but nothing is made to scale. it's made to use many pieces. i totally get why (texture stretching), but it means making a wall of a certain length can be a little annoying. if i had to do it over, i'd use a lot more primitives with the P.I.C.K. elements.
i also GC'd all the materials by hand. i wouldn't have needed to do this if i'd mastered making VSS templates. the window glass is completely transparent because refraction does not allow light to pass through an object. i was losing all my directional light. i now have a way to make transparent glass from bagginsbill's teachings (thanks yet again!).
the dress is the fairy dress Lady Littlefox and Sarsa you can find at DAZ. i converted it to dynamic and used my own adjusted version of the materials to make a white GC version. i've never once had a problem converting the Lady Littlefox clothes i own to dynamic. she makes nice and clean meshes.

This is an awesome scene ! :)
mikeerson
your picture looks well done... it is a mystery shot to me though. I wanna know how she got in that pose... I wanna know where her legs are... I wanna know if she's being thrown through the window.... I like to "feel" what is going on, this one is a mystery - I'm 50/50 on mysterys... I love'm, yet I don't know what the "Mood" is.... sometimes, you gotta just love the piece because it looks so good and move on - Excellent work.

I absolutely love that dress and how it fits--the stretching pose shows it off so well, and the pose looks so joyful! The cropping is gorgeous too, it makes a wonderful compostion. Your colors are always perfect for the mood, this looks like early morning light. I was interested in the window glass problem, I have never had luck with windows in Poser ,so I usually use a transparent hi-res square with a fake reflection or even add it as postwork..as I think you mentioned before, transparency is slow and tiresome in Poser. The hair looks great--if you can find refs for the highlights (tiny on dark hair, only where you already have some) that is all I would add--the rest looks superb and clumps very naturally!
Revelation-23
Looks good! Not unlike mikeerson's thoughts, this kind of looks like she's jumping and this caught her on the way up or right before the dress started to come up as gravity took hold. The camera angle works, but it's hard to tell whether she's just standing there or doing something else. Still, everything turned out great! Oh, to be someone in another building high enough to get another view of this...

Wowee! Great work! I especially like how you captured the geometry of the upper chest above the breasts. With the lighting you used it looks very realistic. Everything worked out insanely well. The dress, pose, hair and light all conspired together to make this picture one of the better pieces I've ever seen. You did really well. Great job!

...and you make nice, clean, inspiring images, m! This re-take of your original image does highlight new tools and concepts... is it better than the original? That is a matter of art, I guess. The exuberance, the delight of morning and serene sounds of ocean in the distance is palpable. A very powerful, compelling work... and for me, one to learn from. I do find the POV interesting: like she is reaching up, out of the world of slumber to embrace day.
Babajaga

DapperMan
Fantastic. Although i admit that it did take a few seconds to get "oriented" and figure out that we are looking down on her on the floor, and not that she is in midair from a jump. But wow, the colors, the lighting angle, and the pose are spot on!
mermaid
really like this one too, a very special pov and a gorgeous render!
