Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Is that you hiding behind the Old's Ringed Globe Emblem? Of course I had to look up what this emblem was called officially. Love this photo of the sparkly, highly reflective, rounded, streamlined, black hood. This is a favorite...always wanted an Old's but they went away before I ever accomplished getting one. LOL

Cool POV, high contrast and reflectivity in this shot, M. And, heh heh, congratulations on reaching the 1800 posting pinnacle.

We do work hard to stay out of the reflection. I got to drive one of these old tanks. I learned how to drive, in one of these, in a big circular driveway. Never got to take a left hand turn. :>) Dana

That'll be a 1950 Oldsmobile, nicely preseved for the last 60 years!

Great shot! Love the gleaming hood of this old beauty and a the curvy depth of the reflections. Never thought I'd be living in an American where Oldsmobiles would be a defunt car brand. Or Plymouth or Pontiac or Mercury. Geez the last 10 years have been hard on American cars! Anyway, this is a great shot, and kind of sad.

I just LOVE the reflections. So surreal! Fantastic image.

This has such a nice swoop to it...and those reflections really rock! This nose-on POV is a bit surreal in all of the right ways, especially with those reflections and the patterns that they make. Yeah, this is a doozie of a good shot. It's fun to look at and I imagine it was fun to make.
