Description

The Terran Protectorate Stellar Navy's Special Operations Assault and Reconaissance (S.O.A.R.) division was founded 60 years ago during the first war with the Imperial Consortium. The I.C. had both a numerical and technological advantage over humanity, and the navy desperately needed specialized strike teams who could gather intelligence and conduct surgical strikes deep in enemy (and occupied) territory. The SOAR squadrons were born, and near the end of the war were responsible for numerous crippling operations against the enemy. Since that time, the SOAR division has been polished and expanded into the Stellar Navy's premiere special forces unit. SOAR troopers are trained for deep extraction, ship-to-ship boarding operations, intelligence gathering, insurgency, search and rescue, and anti-piracy missions. They are also some of the most feared fighter pilots in the Protectorate. In fact, any pilot that makes double-ace is *strongly* encouraged to volunteer for SOAR training. While famously known for their "bug eyed" armored flightsuits, most of the time SOAR teams operate under the radar, with little or nothing to link them back to the Stellar Navy.
