the desert in spring is a most amazing place. To see it in the heat of summer, you would never think there was so much life. This is really a contrast in the harsh and the gentle. I understand those long days with short nights. Almost everyday is a 17-hour day. I'm giddy when I get a whole 8 hours sleep...all in one night. :-)

I understand why they are called Mules ears! :) Fabulous photo showing that reality is not that different from Vue really.

Great shot and the shadow adds interest too for me. I bet its adept at surviving without a great deal of water.

I really like those dramatic shadows on the ground, they seem to have a life of their own and move along where the sun points at, just like a sun dial. As always, your images are the best!

I love the colour of the desert sand ... you can see why the Navajo and others use that colour in pottery and things that they make ...beautiful shot of the flowers in the sand

Since you have posted a number of images since my last visit, I decided to browse through the most recent ones. They are beautiful all, but this one stopped me in my tracks! Superb capture and stunning shadows! Wonderful detail, texture and color! The Mules ears' shadows in the front are very dramatic, the ones to the right and back are very convoluted and squiggly, and the sage shadows look like fine hair. They are all so clear and distinct and look beautiful on the grainy sand. Gorgeous!
