ECSTASY …
Erotic moments just before our flesh
Erupts for lust’s volcanoes of desire.
Exhaustion’s momentary afterglow
When lava’s sperm lies dormant, half aware
Still hungry. This is it? We’ve no more than
Pathetic parsings of a word whose breadth
Embraces breathless beauty of a sun
Abandoning time’s day or miracles
For those accepting faith that humble bread
And wine are changeables to know a God.
THE MAJESTY OF AWE …
Behold invention’s gift to telescope
A universe of quasars, galaxies and stars;
Then tell me you’re unmoved by something all
Your reason can’t define. Explain the acts
Of artistry creating symphonies
That move your spirit into tears of joy
From sounds that definitions can’t describe
This vast immensity of everything
Intangible; impossibilities
We sense may well be lies are what make us
Divinely capable of thundering
To all the emptiness of silence: “You
Cannot escape our being … WE EXIST!”
Are these not ecstasy’s immortal truths?

This entire piece is a kicker but something in the phrase "ecstasy's immortal truths" really brings it all together; you capture so much in this, so many threads in a rich tapestry and you bring it all together marvelously and with such exquisite sensuality. This is super stuff!

You do have a way with words sir. You describe it so well. Ecstasy comes in many flavors. I still remember my first kiss. I felt an electric spark pass between our lips. Ecstasy has always been chemical I suppose but I can remember when it wasn't made in a lab.

SUPERB work and trilogy! Sadly, the ''Shock & AWE'' WE humans seem to have ACCEPTED comes at the end of a military missile or bomb, etc. I'm simply amazed and befuddled beyond belief, how WE can lay claim to 'VALUE' of LIFE and then be SO DESTRUCTIVE in response to such. ~SIGH~ As for "AWE" ....
