Description

Maligne Canyon was cut through solid rock by runoff from Maligne and Medicine lakes, east of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies. I believe that this water finds its way into the Athabasca River. The color of he water ia beautiful. This series was taken with a film Pentax camera (July & August 1988) and recently scanned. I have to overlook my acrophobia just long enough to say this is one awesome capture, with cool DOF, clarity, stark dark/light contrast and textures, Dana! The turquoise color of the river is gorgeous and really pops out in this image.

I am SLOWLY catching up and dancing around in your gallery and I must say that this really grabs me. WOW! This is truly awesome, and that's a word I don't use lightly. Something about canyon rivers always strikes me profoundly. I love the sense of color in this, especially that green that speaks of really clean, clear, and probably very cold water! This is fantastic!
