Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nice one. I never have much luck capturing these guys. They are always too fast for me!

Very nice capture in flight. I haven't been able to capture one in flight yet.... Seems like taking pictures of lava are much easier and they don't move as fast as birds do. Aloha

Excellent capture, looks like he's standing still in the air!

Love the water, how the wave crest has been caught with the sea foam of the water surface behind. Both the wave crest and the rolling surface having their own color and character. Always enjoy the flight of a sea bird coasting over cresting waves as the stay tight to the water surface. Wonderful!

Gorgeous! I love that you captured this beauty in flight: NOT an easy thing to do. I tried a few times and got gull shaped blurs that weren't as interesting as the ones I make on purpose. Maybe if I jigged and spun something might have come of it...oh well! I love this shot, especially with the forward motion of the gull, and the sea/sea foam background. This is gorgeous!
