Description

Liz (zil2008) asked me to create a Rainbow Bridge picture for a website she is involved in for cats with asthma, www.felineasthma.org Look carefully and you will see also 2 little dogs I painted, with Liz's approval. The site is so informative about the dreadful condition, and helps people to understand it and how they can help their cats. Many of the cats if treated early can live long and happy lives, and often die of other causes. There is a special tribute page for those cats who have passed away. Being as the website is being updated at present it seemed a good time to add a pic of Rainbow Bridge, I considered it a great honour to be asked to create it. I sincerely hope that all of us who have lost beloved pets will get some comfort from my picture. Liz's recently departed Mikey is layed near to the bridge as that is where Liz would like to see him, but this picture is for everyone who ever lost a pet she stressed to me. This is how I see Rainbow Bridge and actually my own Mistapus has a serious heart condition that could take him at any time, so strangely enough I got some comfort from my own picture as I created it. I really do believe a place similar to the one I created does exist, and for all of us who have lost beloved pets will one day see them waiting patiently for us, but believing that while they wait they have all they need and are happy, is comforting don't you think? Just like Liz and a few of my friends here on RR who have lost cats and dogs, also my best friend Barbara (jendellas) has sadly just lost her beloved cat Bernie. It is always hard losing our dearest pets and I know how hard it has been for all of you. I hope that my little picture will bring you and us all some comfort too. Photos - Bluebell's, some other flowers, animal toys, plus pets, by me with Finepix S5000 Liz took the photo of Mikey and I painted him, as I did also both the dogs, Mia in the foreground who is not with me now, and also one of her pups the little black and white puppy. The background by me - painted grass and lots of other things using brushes, and I created other things using Photoshop Elements 8 and Photoshop CS4 Some brushes from Deviant Art were: KeepWaiting - Fantasy_Lighting brush kit for some stars Angela Jones - grass11_38734 used loads of them in this pic - contact - amj80@cableone.net Nathie - brushes - spring feelings foliage brushes, and fur brushes spiritsighs - brushes - dragonflies The angel is a stock photo by faestock, I painted her hair and photo maniped her gown, and painted the wings I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support of my work, and for all the well wishes, you really do make me feel loads better. I managed to get around to all of those who commented on my 'Hush She Sleeps', a bit slow but I got there in the end. love to you all, take care of yourselves, Jane xxxxxx PLEASE DO ZOOM TO GET CLOSE TO THOSE FURRIES ©2010 JaneEden

Jane, This brought tears to my eyes especially after reading your description. Did I tell you I am a HUGE cat lover? I have one of my own and currently feed several stray cats in the neighborhood. One adult female I call "Mama" because last year I kept seeing her pregnant several times, and when I noticed it, I started putting food out for her. There was no way to capture her and take her to a shelter she was afraid, but eventually I gained her trust and was able to pet her, but she has stayed a stray cuz in our little town, the only shelter is almost always full up. Anyway the last time she was pregnant, I actually saw three of her kittens, one of them after about 3 months old disappeared, the other one unfortunately got hit by a car, (I live by a busy street) and that day I saw it I was very sad. The final one is a female and I have been feeding it as well, and she started out totally wild and when she saw me would run, but she is around 6 months old now, and I am finally able to pet her. Then there are other cats, I guess possibly because Mama is not spayed that come around to my door. I can't feed them all but they get tidbits here and there. I worry about them and what's going to happen to them come the cold winter. Especially the kitten, I call her mittens cuz she is gray and black striped with white paws. Once a couple of months ago I managed to pick her up and bring her inside and she freaked. But this morning she actually walked inside my door for a moment. I wished I could keep her but I have a cat who is a female, not spayed, and she hates other cats. She doesn't like kids either and is suspicious of even strange adults. She only likes me. Anyway sorry, I didn't mean to go on this way, but your painting touched me a lot. I am a Christian and I wonder if animals go to heaven as well, I sort of think so. Both I and my daughter have had beloved cats, or pets that have had to be put down in the past and it was always so devastating. I have to believe that they go to heaven and will be there when I go as well. Thank you so much Jane! Your work is VERY impactful and thought provoking, not to mention emotional as well. Hugs to you!
