Description

This one is a bit different for me, especially since I have quite a fear of spiders, I was actually taking some photos of some wild flowers and was down pretty close to some when I noticed this guy not to far away, my first thought was get the heck away then at second glance I thought I can do this... so with slight trembling hands and a silly fear that it would jump off that web and onto me, I steadied my little Kodak point and shoot that I take on bike rides.. and got as close as I could dare myself... and after a few shots took in the beauty of the spider and a bit of my fear went away.. Markus, I thought of you when I was taking this shot, and all the awesome photos of spiders and other little creatures you have brought to us in your wonderful gallery, I hope you will enjoy it.. I hope you will take a minute to check out some of the collection PRAEP has done recently on spiders. If you care to read more about these species here is a LINK the most important thing I did read about them is that they are are considered harmless to humans, unless of course seeing one causes you to perhaps have a heart attack like it about did to me. lol Thank you all for your support. I have made a video of some of my photos some you have seen in my gallery and others I have not posted as yet, if you would like to view, here is the LINK TO MY VIDEO and this is my first attempt so please please be gentle but also let me know your comments, by the way the full screen option seems to come out fuzzy, I am in process of trying to learn how to correct that for next time... thank you thumb_2101989.jpg

Ya see, nothing ventured, nothing gained in the field of photography. Above and beyond excellent macro of the handsome, demure and rather unassuming arachnid, Lynell. I was going to say nothing to fear, that it wouldn't hurt a fly, but then realized that's part of its diet. Kind of a messy web as webs go, but they're genetically predisposed to do it that way, so you can't have everything.

A super capture and I know that feeling of fear as I too hate getting close to them. You have made a great job of your first video, keep up the good work.

I'm nuts for bugs and this spider is just beautiful. Yeah, getting over the fear was a biggee for me and of course the nature of the fear always lingers around. And this time of year is to wear spider silk across the face while cruising the orchard. Thanks for the links! Great stuff.
