Description
This one is a bit different for me, especially since I have quite a fear of spiders, I was actually taking some photos of some wild flowers and was down pretty close to some when I noticed this guy not to far away, my first thought was get the heck away then at second glance I thought I can do this... so with slight trembling hands and a silly fear that it would jump off that web and onto me, I steadied my little Kodak point and shoot that I take on bike rides.. and got as close as I could dare myself...
and after a few shots took in the beauty of the spider and a bit of my fear went away..
Markus, I thought of you when I was taking this shot, and all the awesome photos of spiders and other little creatures you have brought to us in your wonderful gallery, I hope you will enjoy it.. I hope you will take a minute to check out some of the collection PRAEP has done recently on spiders.
If you care to read more about these species here is a
LINK the most important thing I did read about them is that they are are considered harmless to humans, unless of course seeing one causes you to perhaps have a heart attack like it about did to me. lol Thank you all for your support.
I have made a video of some of my photos some you have seen in my gallery and others I have not posted as yet, if you would like to view, here is the LINK TO MY VIDEO and this is my first attempt so please please be gentle but also let me know your comments, by the way the full screen option seems to come out fuzzy, I am in process of trying to learn how to correct that for next time... thank you

We have one of those outside our kitchen door, we never use the door it really steps out to the front porch which the front door does as well, so she is left alone to do her thing. Very nice capture.

I know what you mean fear of spiders....I have not seen this kind of spider since I was a kid (as I used to live in Tennessee) all I remember is does that spider moves back and fourth on a web? I remember spiders in Tennessee get pretty big...I live in Utah and all spiders I see are small but we have lots of "hobo" spiders here which are poisenous...and those spiders can be mistaken for a brown house spiders which are safe...

She is really gorgeous. I am glad you stuffed up your nerve and took the time to photograph her. Even with a point and shoot you got an amazing macro.

Very well captured and congratulations overcoming your unfounded fear of spiders. They are awesome creatures and if I am not mistaken this "guy" is actually a very pretty "lady".

WOW. You fought your fear to take a shot and think of me since you doing that. Thats really great - many thanks for that. I think she or he is similar to the wasp-spiders I found. Thanks for this great dedication. And also thank you for the sitemail to inform me about that shot - I'm totally late with the galleries and now I'm here and love it.
