Description
There is a channel entering Humboldt and Arcata Bay's just above the lost coast in northern California. The channel has a north and south jetty, the north jetty being at the southern most point of the Samoa sand dune recreation area.
At first I found the rock color and starfish of interest. Upon closer inspection, while jockeying for position to take the image :), I noticed the white area's on the rock had been where Barnacle's had been previously dined on. Some of those patterns are quite interesting in full view.

This would make a great textbook illustration. It goes to show that every living thing is on the food chain:). Like it.
