Description

hello to all, and thank you for taking time out of your day to look at my work. and additional thanks to those who take the time to comment. i'm feeling a bit blocked in terms of production and development, so i thought i'd finish off one of the renders i had done before just to get back in the groove of things. this is RobynsVeil's and HeRaZa's lovely Sandra, wearing the dynamic bikini and sarong i made for her and hair from Lady Littlefox's ballet set for Aiko 3. i used my sRGB materials on everything, including Sandra and her makeup, so Sandra is not the tone and color she's meant to be. i think she still came out well, but i figure it's best to note the discrepancy. the make-up masks she comes with are _awesome_ to work with. this was originally a white room render. but i thought it needed spicing up, and i thought i'd take a chance on working with a photo. i say take a chance because i knew i wasn't going to try to make this look uber-real. i wanted more of a old-fashioned postcard feel. i found the photo of Hawaii on stock.xchang. i painted the hair, touched up the eyebrows, made the lips a little redder (my choice of lipstick color was too bland), and did a few things to integrate the render with the photo. the figure has very little done to her- just some fixes to her bent elbow (typical Vicky problems), and some color adjustments. as titled, this is dedicated to RobynsVeil and her generosity. and i think Sandra is waving to bella_sometimes, though i hadn't realized that when i made it. ;-)

Aren't you glorious, m! What an incredible image: you've done wonders with her shader. Definitely an improvement... there's a lot to say for Corrected sRGB versus Gamma-Correction, particularly in scenes like the above. The skin colour is warm: Sandra feels touch-ably alive... and in such a lovely place, too. She blends perfectly with her background. I've never been able to get warmth in a V4 smile the way you do, m... bella_sometimes would totally relate to this warmth, since she's been basking in it for the past while. Nothing like Polynesian Islands to give that feeling of "aloha"... or "bulla" if you're in Fiji...

This is a bit of a departure for you, and I like it. I love seeing the dynamic clothing you've made, although personally I'm about to give up on doing it. Wonderful dark skin shader (still struggling with that myself). It does have a vintage postcard/slightly-retouched-photo look to it. I would say to give it a bluish-greenish-tannish IBL to color the shadows, but that would push it into uber-realness.
