Description

Hi Neil! You asked for a comparison between the Pzkw Mk I and the King Tiger. Here it is. The top of the Mk I turret doesn’t even reach the level of the King Tiger’s deck. I’ve included a figure by Hasegawa with their 88 mm. gun’s shell to further the comparison. (The shell is a bit too long compared to the propellant cartridge). In the lower picture, I’ve included to the left the command tank based on the Mk I chassis. I’ll be posting a photo with description of that tank a bit later. I took the photo yesterday, after reading your request. Unfortunately indoors, due to rain. They look more real when photographed in the sand box, and I don’t get shadow artifacts from the flash. 1:72 scale models by - King Tiger by Revell GMBH Pzkw Mk I by Esci (no longer in business) but now available from Italeri. Mk I command tank by Esci (not available as far as I know) Figure from Hasegawa’s towed 88 mm. FLAK 36 gun Assembly and painting by me. Enjoy! Camera: Fuji A303 digital

Evolution in armor had to be fast for the German army didn't it! I never realized the size difference.
