Description

(Bug Comic) This isn't everyone, but there are too many of them to list. This is the short version: --Peter and Grace Oakmead (divorced, Grace went back to Atlantia) --Philip, Richard and Arthur, their sons. --Randall and Amy, Philip and Marian's children --(not shown)Richard and Dorilys have 6 children, including Naomi (where Randy tries on boots) --Arthur and Misty had Rain and Leaf; Misty (who had something like MS) died of pneumonia when Rain was 12. Pictures: On the left, Rain's little brother, Leaf-in-Summer. He goes to school in Fenris; the school goes through kindergarten to high school and has about 200 students. He's not a scholar, but he passes. His cousin Randy passed only because he was well-liked and turned in most of his homework; but it was obvious that he wasn't going to go any further in school than graduating high school. Randy's sister Amy is "the smart one". She goes to school at a private academy an hour's drive each way, but her grandfather considers it a good investment--she already does most of the accounting for the farm, as well as much of the purchasing of supplies. Rain jokingly calls her "the Blight of My Life" because she will sometimes help with milking the two family cows when he's sick or traveling with the horses, but she always makes him pay her back-- by either sewing for her or delousing the chickens, both of which he hates. Peter Oakmead was born in the United States of the South (Atlantia), but left because there were "too many pointy-eared webby freaks" moving in there (much of the South is mangrove swamp, perfect for Mer) and he wanted cheaper land to start a horse farm. Since much of the Northwest was trashed by the Azali war, he figured he could find a bargain. He's notoriously cheap, a brilliant businessman, and often verbally abusive, though he can be generous at times. He and Rain do *not* get along, partly because of how he treats Rain's father. Peter calls Arthur "my defective son". Arthur Oakmead was born with abnormal tonsils --the doctors reworked them, but they damaged his hearing in his right ear and his vocal cords, so while he *can* talk(in a rusty whisper), he prefers to write notes (that is a pen clipped to his shirt). No one expected he would marry. He tends to hide in his workshop to avoid his father. Marian called him "the prettiest and the weirdest of the Oakmead boys." because he had a lot of curly hair like Leaf's when he was young. Arthur came into the kitchen when he was 40 and took off his hat, and Marian, who hadn't really looked at him for years, said "Arthur, *where* is your hair?" And Arthur (a bookworm like his son Rain)grinned, took his pen and wrote "Brow Like Shakespeare" on a scrap of paper, which made Marian laugh. Marian runs everything but the "horse" part of the farm, and has been Rain's "Mom" since Misty died. Even when Misty was alive, Marian did all the practical parenting, feeding and disciplining of the two boys. Her husband Philip is Rain's favorite uncle, and the head trainer of the horses (Oakmead Farms specializes in calm saddle horses.) That's "Pinto Bean" next to Philip, though he's hard to see. Misty's short bio is here (Rain's Mom), Rain you have seen, and Fern is both the daughter of a client of the farm, and Rain's girlfriend of about two years, though now mostly "ex-girlfriend". (Rain was so difficult and moody after last summer's "accident" that she's pretty much given up on him.) Credits: Some of these were made so long ago I forget--but Peter is Erik for M4, on Rosity MP, Misty is Schonee's Kira, Marian is Rebelmommy's Belinda, Leaf is Nico on Daz, as is Arthur Oakmead, Amy is gypsyangel's morphs from Ladies of the Night with Rhiannon's Ashley Blue texture.

I love these things, it's groovy to see who is who and doing what to who. Actualy, Rain's family doesn't really sound too unusual, except they seem to like each other (for the most part).

i think this is the best of the sets. all of the portraits are strong, there's almost a consistency to the lighting, and the characters are mostly treated very consistently. the only one that kind of stands out as different is Amy. her portrait seems a little more rendered and a little less painted than the others. my favorites in this one are Arthur's and Philip's portraits.

Gosh, you have the most amazing imagination. Wow. Love your stories on all these people. Had to laugh at the 'abnormal tonsil' dude though. Ok, I shouldn't laugh at Arthur, he did go through trauma with his doctors and all, but still... My favorite pic is of Phillip. Love his smile and his horse. Really nice collection of pics. Love your work.
