Description

(Bug Comic) This follows Bryan's Best Day Ever Bryan and Nate went to meet Staci at General Elle's statue and bring Staci a slice of cake, though they forgot to bring her a fork. (She has frosting on her nose, though it's hard to see). Bryan wants to find out if either of them have seen the paper or the broadcast news; he wants to find out if the second Aer he saw on Pearl Street is still loose, and he wants to know if his own name got in the paper, because then he might have some explaining to do to his mom. Nate had watched the news while he ate breakfast; he hadn't seen Bryan mentioned anywhere, it had just said that "A slicer had been apprehended on Pearl Street with the help of an Aer University student, Rain Stone, and WASN'T IT A FANTASTIC GAME LAST NIGHT??" The members of Ellesburg's hockey team, the Sharks, were now the National Champions. Bryan told them what had happened Friday night, and that he has some tickets to the Barber of Seville, which he offers to give them if they want to go. Staci says yes (Pretty costumes!) and Nate says no ("Dude, it would kill me--2 hours of screeching") ____________________ I have to thank gypsyangel for Nate, because I wanted Johnny Galecki for the role, and Laura made him in about ten minutes and sent him over. She's so talented at sculpting! Nate, being a mycology major, has a thing about toe fungus so you'll often see him without shoes, airing out his toes. Staci is Natalya for V4, over at RDNA, and Staci's dress is an old model by Powerage, no longer on Renderosity, and her hair is the Brooke Hair, Renerosity MP. Nate's hair is the Wild Mane hair from Daz, his clothes are the Stylin set from Daz, and if this was a movie, those flames animate (when Nate remembers to load the battery strip)

I confess that I intentionally tried to "read the story" of the render prior to reading the comic excerpt, because I immediately recognized that there is a lot going on in this image, a testament to your visual storytelling prowess. As an aside, the title reminded me of the days when you posted as "fishcake" to the Poser USENET group. Seems like aeons ago now! :-) Keep up the wonderful work, I love your art!

this is another one of those scenes where it really strikes me how well your rendered and painted elements work together. i had to look up Johnny Galecki, and i have to say Laura did an excellent job. there's something very personable about this scene. i just keep coming back to look at their faces. the sculpture is a very interesting mixture of seemingly abstract and representational. i like the statue's copper material. i think you handled the midground and background wonderfully. it has just the right amount of detail.

Lynn, have to say this one is really outstanding. You always manage to give your characters a life of their own, and bring them to life so well. Nice work on this relaxed chat of their's and that statue is just too cool.
