Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ya know, my friend, Tanya did just the same thing, only it was in a 3-legged chair. She didn't realize that until she got a very good view of the sky directly above. And Tanya, being Tanya, just laid there with her feet pointing up in the air and watched the clouds for a while. THIS is a far more suitable chair for sitting and observing in when those random Zen moments come on, and this is a marvelous picture as well. I love the fact that it's a festive riot of detail and contrast all heightened by being in black and white. This is a cool shot!

I'm with Andrea on that design thing ... I always feel a bit uneasy sitting in one of those. Aside from that ... LOVE the image! This is great in b&w. And it's #1900 ... Congratulations!

Like the high contrast B&W, suits the subject perfectly.

Stark clarity and light and shadow contrast in this New Mexico outback type setting, Marilyn. I hope you brushed off the chair before you sat down.

B&W works well on this old abandoned chair. Big difference from your previous post. Dana
