Description

Arrgh. How embarrassing to upload this cheesy thing right after DAVER2112's awesome Orange Iguana image. Alas. Found this little guy during a hike on a cold early spring day. He wasn't interested in moving from the warm sunny spot he'd found, which let me get a little closer than most critters allow. Alas, I was tired, so maybe the focus could be a little sharper. Actually, I've never been thrilled with the focus on the Nikon DSLR's anyway. I've heard it might be because of the over zealous anti-moire filter they have over the CCD. Seems to me that many of the Canon shots here are just amazingly sharp, and no matter what I try, manual or automatic, I can't approach that level. I don't have any $6,000 lenses, so maybe that could be a contributing factor. Any opinions? Are there any Nikon users who get tack-sharp shots? What kind of lenses are you using? Do you Canon guys get such good quality with affordable lenses, or do you have the other kind? Or is it all post-processing magic? Even with post-processing I can't achieve perfection. I get artifacts before I get perfect clarity. Anyway, hope you enjoy the image. I enjoyed photographing the little guy because he was so cooperative.

I do not use Nikon but I do not think it is a problem with the camera or your lens.auto focus does not always focus on what you want it to and manual focus depends on how one sees through the lens.I have a problem sometimes focusing manually, so I take several shots and move the camera in or out to focus instead of manually turning the focus control on the lens beautiful lizard and shot. the ones I have around my yard are so ugly.they do not have good color, and almost looks like rotten food
