Here, it its glory, is at least one of the forerunners of that -'far be it for me to criticise *invention* - of velcro! I use the word 'invention' loosely. I find it rather ironic that we endeavour to thwart nature at every turn, yet copy much of what is in the natural world, even taking the credit for it! ^=^ Here is the beautiful seed head of the Burdock. Japan is the only country, as far as I know, that uses the root of the Burdock in cooking! We in the western world, use it in soda! Along with Dandelions... I too use Dandelions, though in salads and tea, but I've never tried Burdock root - but I just might! ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

Great observation! I note that the spikes are much longer than the variety of Woolly Burdock we have here.
